ON THE INTERNET

From a personal journal entry in November 2006:

I'm having horrible moodswings, and the one right now is a really bad combination of insomnia and existential despair. This despite the fact that I actually went out with friends tonight, had dinner, and saw a movie. Right now, people on LJ are bugging me really, really badly. For some reason, completely innocent statements like "Nothing else of hers will ever be as funny as her Phantom of the Opera" or "I thought you would never post again! It's been so long!" or "WHY ISN'T THE BOOK OUT IN NORTH AMERICA??" or "I'm disappointed that this wasn't longer" or "I feel a little robbed, why did you never do (whatever movie)" are getting me down really badly. I feel like all I do is disappoint people. I don't put up enough Lost recaps, I don't parody movies often enough, I don't do all the movies they want, and when I do them they're either too short or too long. I think that the only thing getting me through is that I've started adding "...ON THE INTERNET" to the end of sentences. Like "in bed" at the end of a fortune cookie. "I have disappointed people... ON THE INTERNET." For some reason, it 1) makes me laugh and 2) kind of puts it in perspective.
