Back when we lived on (previous street in Elbow), the family nickname for me was Polar Bear, because I had a room to myself up on the top floor and I was always cranking the AC down to 65 when I could get away with it. Due to several losing battles in the Thermostat Wars after we moved, the nickname was gradually forgotten.

Then Lost came along with its omgwtfpolarbear, and I realized I had found my soulbond totem mascot. Or something. I even got a little plush polar bear for Christmas (2006), which turned out to be associated with an online virtual pets site called Webkinz, so now I can play games with my little animated Iorek.
